Harriet's batik art shows the wonder and playfulness of nature and wildlife.   One time many small blue butterflies alighted on my salty socks while I was hiking.  Another time a  butterfly landed on my shin, enjoying the sun and salt. 

Harriet wrote, “This piece was inspired by my children's picture book, Coyote and the Laughing Butterflies. In this legend, the butterflies play a trick on lazy coyote.”

Butterflies give a coyote a smile at dawn in a desert landscape.
